Status on Recent Plantings

I never got around to cutting the one salvia off and I'm beginning to believe it's just as well. The last couple days it's been a little droopy during the day, but appears to be recovering. I wish I could say the same for one of the hot pink 'Jewelbox Mix' Cockscombs or the 'Gold Rush' shasta daisy. The cockscomb is all but gone, but the daisy gives me hope as one of the branches looks great while the rest of the plant is brown and soggy.
All the pansies I transplanted appear to be make a strong comeback, as are the ones I uncovered when I pulled out all the white alyssum. Wish the lobelia would responded like that...

The glads are coming on like gang busters! I fully expect to walk outside anyday now and see flower spikes emerging. The echinacea bloom should be opening any day now, too, although it has taken a strange turn downward. (When I first saw it I thought it might be dying, but the stem feels full and strong.)

The portulacas are coming into their own as they're putting on numerous blooms per plant now and I've got 4 o'clock seedlings coming up all over the place, including one on the street along the curb. (I've got quite a garden going there what with the 2 butterfly weed seedlings and the 7 white alyssums growing there, as well.)

The bulbine, 'Angelart Cherry' nemesia, or 3 remaining cockscombs aren't growing, but they're not dying either. Strangely, the butterfly weeds aren't growing either. (I really thought pruning them back would bring on a growth spurt.

The Stella d'Oros are growing bigger, but not looking any greener and the biggest one has another flower spike on it. The gazanias are blooming up a storm, as are the snapdragons, the society garlic and the ever-faithful dianthus.

Sure wish I had put fertilizer out months ago...
