eBay Plants
Last Wednesday the 14 plants I ordered of eBay came in the mail. I made a quick trip to WallyWorld, picked up 2 cu ft of Expert's, a box of Schultz' fertilizer and a bottle of water crystals, came back to the house, mixed everything up and had a 'potting party'.
The list of plants included:
(1) Astible Fanal $1.99
(1) 'Tango' Weigela $1.99
(1) 'Girard's Rose' Azalea $0.99
(1) Pee Gee Hydrangea $1.99
(1) Blue River Hibiscus $2.00
(1) Nikko Blue Hydrangea $2.29
(1) Lespedeza bicolor 'Yakushima' $1.79
(1) Monarda 'Jacob Cline' $0.99
(1) 'Royal Red' Buddleja $0.99
(1) 'Carolina Sapphire' Arizona Cypress $3.01
(1) Dwarf Gardenia 'Radicans' $1.50
(1) Bi-Color Buddleja $1.69
(1) 'Christina' Semi Dwarf Azalea $0.99
(1) Astilbe Japonica Peach Blossom $1.99
Subtotal: $24.20
Shipping and handling via Priority Mail: $34.86 (Was I ever hacked off when I saw that!!)
Total: $59.06
Most were 2-3" pot size and more than half had exceptional root systems on them.
As of today the 'Tango' Weigela in the greenhouse is looking more than a little dead. I'm sure hoping it re-leafs!
I also divided and potted up several seedlings that have been languishing since last fall. That list included:
(3) Bleeding Heart
(a bunch) Roadside Yucca (I think)
(5 or 7) Blue Fescue
I think there were more, but I've been asleep since then....
I had also bought some plants at the HEB in Corpus (bulbine) and several plants at the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence that were in desparate need of being repotted:
(1->7) Bulbine
(4) Carex 'Carmen Bronze'
(1->7) Shasta Daisy 'Becky'
(2) Verbena bonariensis a gift from the manager as she felt they were past their prime
