Afternoon Doings
I unearthed all but one of the tulips in the short terra cotta pot, as well as the tray of red w/ white tulips. Lots of daughter bulbs on both batches!!
Found out this afternoon that the 4 black beans that sprouted are hyacinth beans. Because they don't like to be transplanted I got them into the ground today before they grew anymore. Thank goodness I had sprouted them in perlite. It sure made it easy to separate them. We planted 2 of them together on the east fence between 2 lantana and 2 on the back fence behind the Nanho Blue butterfly bush.
I'm thinking of planting in front of the 'Silky Gold' butterfly weed on the south side of the garage the society garlic I divided last fall. I think the 2 colors would be really pretty together and their heights would compliment each other. The only problem is the butterfly weed might die back in the winter leaving the garlic appearing to be out in the middle of the yard.
We're also thinking of moving the patio table out into the yard and planting the reg and Peter Pan blue agapanthus on the east wall of the garage. I think it would naturalize well with the vine and the banana shrubs. I just have to be sure to keep back a couple of starter plants.
